We’ll Own That Feeling

Young people live with overwhelming feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, or loneliness every day. We’ll own that feeling together so no one has to live with it alone.

Jack.org is Canada's largest network of young people supporting young people, we give young people the resources, tools, and confidence they need to start owning their mental health journeys.

We’re a movement for young people, by young people – because there’s no more pressing health challenge young people are facing than the mental health emergency.

The Wall of Feelings

A community that cares shows young people who are struggling that they’re not alone. Leave a message of hope for a young person in Canada today.

I'm so proud of you! I know how hard it can be sometimes. Please remember that you are never alone and that every win, no matter how big or small, is something to celebrate. Make time for the things that bring you joy, give yourself permission to slow down when you need it, and reach out to someone if it ever gets too much to handle on your own. The world is better with you in it <3

The beauty of life is that it is ever-changing, so the feelings that you have today and the circumstances you are enduring right now are not permanent. And as humans, we find strength in belonging and connection, so though you may feel like you can manage by yourself - please reach out to a loved one or a mental health support person. We want to help <3.

As a psychologist who has worked with youth for years, I know that it DOES get better. The key is not trying to push through alone. No matter how big the feelings, how dark the place, how overwhelming the anxiety, or how certain you are that you are unhelpable (or unworthy of help) reaching out for support to loved ones or trained mental health supports will make a difference.

You are not a burden. Feelings can be scary but they are nothing to be ashamed of. You matter, just because you’re you. It’s not about what you accomplish or how productive you are or what you got on your last test. You matter because you’re here and I promise you, you are loved more than you know.

Having tragically lost my dear son Jack to mental illness … I am fully aware of how important these preventative conversations are. Making sure our wonderful young people are free of shame and stigma is crucial. That way we can get them the support they need and deserve to live a long and healthy life.
