Saad Ahmed
Saad is currently a third-year Health Sciences student at the University of Waterloo. He developed a passion for mental health advocacy due to his personal experiences with poor mental health immigrating between Pakistan and Canada as a child as well as some of the learning challenges he encountered during his education career. Saad is actively involved in his university as a Residence Life Don, upper-year mentor, peer health educator, and teaching assistant for CHEM 120L. He is also actively engaged in his community as an active volunteer for a youth shelter home called OneRoof Youth Services. Saad has previously worked in various healthcare settings such as a clinical assistant as well as a summer research student at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Outside of school, Saad likes to go to the gym, play volleyball intramurals, and spend quality time with his friends and family. Saad hopes to not only carry a legacy with his mental health advocacy and be a positive role model for young males struggling with their mental health but also hopes to one day pursue a career in medicine to further advocate for his patients and make an impactful change in the Canadian healthcare system.
