Amber Culley
Amber Culley is passionate about education, interculturalism, community service, and working with others. She has completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminology with Minors in Global Studies and Religion & Culture along with the Arts Global Experience (AGX) Program at Wilfrid Laurier University. Additionally, she has been able to achieve numerous certifications thus far. She is continuing her studies within the Double Masters (MA/MDiv) program in Psychotherapy & Spiritual Care and Theology at Martin Luther University College. This program is acknowledged under the Ontario College of Registered Psychotherapists (OCRP) and so will allow her to become a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). She is also interested in becoming a Certified Psychospiritual Therapist with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC).In the distant future, Amber would like to complete a further French program along with a Juris Doctor or PhD in a discipline relevant to psychotherapy, social work, criminology, law or political science while in her full-time career. Amber has gained experience in teaching and assessment, supporting persons with accessibility needs, working with vulnerable persons, advocating student wellness, supporting international students, representing and supporting student bodies, taking part in municipal work, planning and hosting events, facilitating meetings, creating agendas, discussing finances and budgeting, practicing the use of various software and online design, being in leadership roles, delegating tasks, working within international environments, and more. Following this, she hopes to immerse herself further into community service work and apply her skills within non-profit organizations and political involvement. Her overall career goals are to work as a politician in various levels of government, gain experience with different government agencies, to work with non-profit organizations, to work within psychotherapy positions or in individual practice, and to pursue other entrepreneurial activities. As someone who has struggled with their own mental health, she is passionate about spreading messages of healthy mental health for ourselves and each other. She strongly believes that we all have mental health just as we have physical health. As well, that it is important to develop self-care plans and be proactive in ongoingly caring for our mental health throughout our lives just as we should with our physical health.
